Description:Responsible for performing the functional inspection activities as directed by the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager to ensure supplier(s) or subcontractor(s) compliance to purchase order requirements. Requires considerable flexibility and initiative in the implementation of these activities. Required to perform all duties necessary to implement the Quality Management System as assigned by management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement the Quality Policy, Safety Policy and Quality Objectives as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Prepare and issue quality specifications that define the quality requirements for the services, material and/or equipment being purchased.
  • Verify supplier compliance and comprehension by reviewing supplier quality submittals in accordance with the purchase order requirements.
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers and internal groups regarding inspection concerns and frequency to ensure that all inspection requirements are achieved.
  • Verifies conformance of all supplier/subcontractor activities to codes, standards, and good engineering practice.
  • Perform assigned inspections, surveys, audits and evaluations of supplier/subcontractor and provide detailed, written documentation of these activities using an approved format.
  • Assist in the clearance of vendor nonconformities requiring engineering disposition.

Essential Job Functions Under Certain Circumstances:

  • Ensures that the requirements for PMI are performed and documented.
  • Provides assistance on Qualified Supplier List and Field Deviation Reporting System.
  • Confirms product identification and traceability to the extent required by the project.
  • Provide support of the Supplier's Quality Personnel to ensure that the Contract Quality requirements are strictly followed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of computers and word processing programs.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, welding, fabrication, machining, boiler /process plant systems
  • Capable of observing safety and security procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Codes and Standards utilized in the design and fabrication of Power and Process Equipment.
  • Works with integrity and willing to follow Corporate established ethics.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent plus documented technical training. 8-10 years' experience in fabrication or quality systems required. Extensive knowledge of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control principles and practices.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, and walk long distances. Lifting, visual acuity, and confined space entry sometimes required.
