Upstream (Chief Engineer Structural and Construction)

Applies extensive and comprehensive knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices, both onshore and offshore, in the Upstream Oil & Gas business.   Knowledge should include deep water schemes, fixed and floating structures.

Assignments are broadly defined.  Work is performed and decisions are made independently. 

Plans, schedules and conducts broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, big picture viewpoint, independent evaluation, and selection and may require significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures. 

Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult problems. Routinely suggests, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems.

Serves as a technical expert in Upstream Oil & Gas meetings with clients.  Travels to project meetings and job sites as necessary.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 15+ years experience in all aspects of structural engineering for both onshore and offshore Upstream Oil & Gas business.   Should be a recognized expert with comprehensive knowledge in all facets of structural  engineering, both onshore and offshore, with a well-developed knowledge of general upstream oil and gas engineering principles and practices. 

Experience in both onshore and offshore upstream projects with knowledge of related field construction/ installation aspects of the Upstream engineering and construction business.  Knowledge should include deep water schemes, fixed and floating structures.

Working knowledge of the industry's technology and knowledge and understanding of how all aspects of upstream facilities integrates into a complete project.

Advanced degree is a plus.

Knowledge of subsea systems is a plus.
