Civil/Structural (Principal Engineer - Engineer 5)

A Principal Engineer applies extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Civil/Structural engineering principles and practices to the organization's products and services. Plans, schedules and conducts broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.  Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult problems. Assignments are broadly defined.  Work is performed and decisions are made independently.  Serves as a technical expert in meetings with customers and vendors.  Travels to project meetings and job sites as necessary. Routinely suggests, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems.  May function as the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer responsible for discipline technical, scheduling and budgeting matters pertaining to the assigned project. Skills requirements include comprehensive knowledge of Civil/Structural engineering, excellent written and oral skills and the ability to organize, plan, assign and coordinate tasks and projects.

Must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering. Excellent written and oral skills. Understands both the technical and commercial aspects of the organization's prospects and goals. 10+ yrs of related engineering experience.
