Description:The Fire Protection Engineer serves as a expert technical authority on fire prevention, fire protection, and life safety engineering issues across the FWUSA organization.
Duties:

Provides expert advise and performs highly advanced complex reviews of plans and specifications for fire suppression, fire detection, life safety code provisions. Provides authoritative advises and guidence to project management, vendors, subcontractors and other discipline engineers to ensure the most up-to-date fire prevention concepts and practices are incorporated inton the design and construction of facilities.

Qualifications:Background in fire protection and plumbing systems. Minimum of 10 yrs experience in design of fire protection systems (Fire Suppression, Life Safety Code Analysis, Fire Alarm Systems, ect.) is required. Should have 5+ yrs of related petrochemical fire protection design and engineering experience. Proficeny in Auto CAD/ Microstation desired; Word and Excel. Proficieny in preparation of drawings and construction specifications experience is required. Working knowledge and experience with NFPA and applicable OSHA standards is required. Must have a ability to work in multiple contingency enviroment with other discipline engineers. Experience with fire protection computer software such as HASS or CAESAR II. Candidates must have a bachelors degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and registered in one state as a professional engineer. Domestic and international trave (approx. 30%) may be required.
