| Duties: | Monitors cost and quantity of engineered equipment and bulk commodities and their comparison to the budget. Identifies and understands the basis of established budgets derived from the original work scope. Prepares presentation materials and participates in the client and internal Project Management meetings. Prepares/reviews cost reports with explanation of variances and root causes. Assists in development of basis for progress measurement for Home Office and field. Forecasts costs and schedules for current and/or future analysis and flags early warnings for corrective action. Administers variance program and assists in the change management effort in a timely fashion. Ensures proper timing of schedule production, compatibility and credibility of schedules. Assists subcontractors in preparation of schedules and look ahead plans. Monitors and updates project progress on a routine basis against established scope, schedules and budgets. Coordinates and supervises take offs of all quantities to be installed, and for all units actually installed for input. Maintains CPM logic networks, detailed work plans and look ahead plans in assigned areas. Processes and tracks budget transfers and change orders. |
| Qualifications: | Engineer requires Bachelor degree in Engineering and the Specialist requires equivalent years of experience. Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, business administration, mechanical, civil, or electrical technology. Working knowledge of cost accounting. Must be computer literate with working knowledge of scheduling and cost systems and other software. Seven years or up to 10 years equivalent experience.
